This Privacy Policy describes how Growth Radar ("Growth Radar", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use our Shopify-embedded analytics application and related services (the "Service").
2. Scope and Roles
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Merchants who install and use the Growth Radar app on their Shopify store.
- Merchant personnel who access the Service via their Shopify admin accounts.
- Website visitors who visit our marketing site or help center (if applicable).
When we process personal data about your customers ("Customer Data"), you are the data controller and we act as your data processor. Our processing obligations are described here and in our Data Processing Addendum (DPA).
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information We Receive from Shopify
When you install Growth Radar, Shopify provides us access to store data via API permissions you approve. This may include:
- Store information (store name, URL, store ID, timezone, currency, plan type).
- Order information (order ID, order date/time, status, financial status, totals, discounts, shipping, taxes, tags, metadata).
- Line item information (product IDs, variant IDs, SKUs, quantities, prices, discounts, refunds, tags).
- Returns and refund information (refund IDs, amounts, reasons, tags).
- Customer information available via Shopify (customer ID, name, email, location, tags, order history).
We do not receive or store full payment card numbers or CVV codes. Payment processing is handled by Shopify and payment providers.
3.2 Information You Provide Directly
- Contact details (name, business email, phone) when you contact us.
- Account and configuration settings inside the app (timezones, saved dashboards).
- Support communications, feedback, or survey responses.
3.3 Automatically Collected Information
- Usage data (pages viewed, features used, timestamps).
- Device and technical data (browser, OS, IP address, general location from IP).
- Cookie data and similar technologies on our website or within the app (where permitted).
4. How We Use Personal Data
- To provide and operate the Service (syncing, calculating analytics, displaying dashboards, reports).
- To maintain/improve the Service (monitoring, troubleshooting, feature development).
- To provide customer support and communications.
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
- To send administrative and service-related communications.
- To send marketing communications where permitted (opt-out available).
- To create aggregated/anonymized analytics that do not identify you or your customers.

We do not sell personal data.

We may process personal data in countries other than where it was collected. Transfers from the EEA/UK/Switzerland to non-adequate countries use safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

We retain personal data as long as necessary for the purposes described and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal, dispute, or compliance reasons. Aggregated anonymized data may be retained longer.
9. Security
We implement security measures like HTTPS/TLS, access controls, logging, and secure development practices. No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for securing Shopify credentials and limiting access.
10. Your Responsibilities as a Merchant
- Ensure you have a lawful basis to collect and share Customer Data with us.
- Provide privacy notices and, where required, obtain consents from customers.
- Comply with data protection laws and assist with data subject rights requests relating to your store.
11. Your Rights
Depending on location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint. To exercise rights for personal data we control (your account/contact info), contact us as below. For Customer Data processed on your behalf, contact the merchant.
12. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website and within the Service. Where required, we will obtain consent before using non-essential cookies.
13. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy. We will revise the "Last updated" date and provide notice where appropriate. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
